While visiting our Artist Cottage and Potlatch Suite, guests are encouraged to spend some time in our gardens, which we have designed with special attention given to native West Coast plants.
The lawn is lined with mature Douglas Fir trees, cedar trees and plants, which can be seen in bloom year round. Salal berry shrubs line our pathways, which we harvest to make into jam. Ask us if we have any for you to enjoy during your stay!
Picnic tables are dotted throughout the gardens where you can enjoy your meals and a cup of tea with a good book. Or, sip a glass of wine while watching waves lap the shore of the pebbly beach, where local wildlife can be seen. Seals, eagles, ravens, Canada geese, herons and swans are all found in the beautiful Sooke Basin.
